Martin Muehlstaetter
The first horse that Muehlstaetter, of Villach, Austria, rode was a warmblood on a lunge line. He became an assistant trainer for NRHA Million Dollar Rider Rudi Kronsteiner in 1999.
After three years of tutelage under Kronsteiner, Martin moved forward and made other experiences working for Bob Avila and NRHA Million Dollar Rider Dell Hendricks, as well as Todd Sommers.
Martin’s biggest payday to date came at the 2014 National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC). Marking a 226, Muehlstaetter and Blue Collar Tag (Whiz N Tag Chex x Kachina Oak Olena x Smart Chic Olena) finished in the number one spot for both Levels 4 and 3 Open.
Another one of Muehlstaetter’s top finishes was at the 2017 NRHA Futurity where he placed fourth in the Level 4 Open finals riding Seven On Seven . 2020 was an amazing year for Martin that was reached, the most wanted milestone for a trainer , becoming a Million Dollar Rider. According to Equi-Stat, Muehlstaetter’s leading earners are: Blue Collar Tag ($156,361), Wimpys Little Buddy ($81,919), Seven On Seven ($77,645), Electric Barbie ($67,060) and Late Night Stopper ($51,956).
