From Quebec Canada, Pierre-Luc Phaneuf (aka P-Luc)! Pierre-Luc grew up loving the sport of Reining. He started showing in youth classes at the young age of 8 and was hooked on the sport instantly. In 1999, 17-year-old P-Luc left his family and friends in Canada and moved to the United States to chase his dream of becoming a top NRHA professional trainer.

Jumping in full throttle he got his start in North Carolina training alongside François Gauthier. P-Luc spent 4 grateful years with François until taking on his next 8-year journey with Craig & Ginger Schmersal. Along the way Pierre-Luc became a NRHA lifetime member and in 2006 earned his spot on the “Top 20 NRHA Professional’s” list. In April 2014, after years of earned confidence and acquired knowledge from being assistant trainer alongside the best of the best, Pierre-Luc Phaneuf & @phaneufreininghorses was eager and humbly ready to venture out solo.

To date, Pierre-Luc’s NRHA show earnings total over $455,000 and climbing. His love and dedication to the sport of Reining truly has no limits. Pierre-Luc received his NRHA Judges card in 2015 and has successfully incorporated Reining judging into his professional repertoire.
